Expressions des Bijoux is the creation of founder and curator, Rosita Heshmati, who has spent many years discovering jewellery designers in tucked away corners around Europe and the Mediterranean.
In the Veneto area of Italy, Rosita was captivated by the brilliance of local artisans who were re-inventing the Venetian tradition of fashioning Murano, the world’s most mesmerising coloured glass. In the chic ateliers that overlook the Cote D’Azur, she was enthralled by designers who were creating timeless pieces. And she discovered more rare gems in the elusive studios on the shores of the Mediterranean and within the crowded back streets of Istanbul.
These journeys of discovery began as a personal voyage, but have now evolved into the unique online boutique that is Expressions des Bijoux. Rosita’s journeys in pursuit of rare jewels now make up eight collections that she has curated for Expressions des Bijoux and is proud to bring them to the attention of women who are searching for the beautiful and the unusual.
Each of the eight collections within Expressions des Bijoux is named after a particular kind of Mediterranean elegance: from Riviera to Classique, Carnevale to Oceania. This is jewellery that reflects a variety of tastes and styles, from refined simplicity to luxurious drama and it can be mixed and matched to perfectly express any women’s individual sense of style.
“Expressions des Bijoux can provide all your jewellery needs from one place. It brings hidden treasures from Europe and around the Mediterranean together, for the first time in one place,” says Rosita.
“I realised that many other women were looking for the same things as me – high-quality jewellery that would set them apart with its originality, femininity and the finesse. Expressions des Bijoux offers jewellery that has come from centuries of traditional jewellery making, combined with a Mediterranean lyrical expressionism.”
This is the world of Expressions des Bijoux, offering a wide range of jewellery that reflects a European heritage yet is utterly contemporary.
The designers who feature within the Expressions des Bijoux online boutique are artists. They do not create designs for mass production but they work from their own studios crafting unique, limited-edition pieces. Scattered across Europe, and beyond, they draw their inspiration from their local culture, heritage and artistic traditions.
They work with the finest materials and gemstones but it is their artistic vision that sets their jewellery apart. “With Expressions des Bijoux, I want other women experience is a journey of discovery into a highly individual world of fine jewellery,” says Rosita.
“Men were also very much in mind when we set up the business”, Rosita comments. “There is little more intimate or seductive for a woman than receiving a piece of jewellery as a gift, but men are often unsure about what to choose or how to go about it. For this reason, we have arranged the collections around look and feel, so that men can easily pinpoint the style that best suits the woman that they are buying for. We also have a section within our online boutique that guides men through the gift-buying process – and of course, we are only too happy to help directly with suggestions too.”
