SARAH CARPIN, DIRECTOR
Sarah Carpin has an expert knowledge of the jewellery market after many years of experience working for some of the world's leading jewellery and watch publications. Sarah works with retailers and suppliers and can advise on branding and product design, PR strategies, marketing and can undertake detailed market research. She also contributes to a number of jewellery and watch titles, including consumer magazines and B2B publications.

Sarah was the editor of the UK’s jewellery and watch business title, Retail Jeweller where she researched jewellery design and market trends and has the privilege of meeting and interviewing the most influential and inspirational people in the jewellery and watch industries.

Previously, Sarah worked on the international jewellery and watch titles, The Basel Magazine and TJF (Trends Jewellery Forecasting) where she gained an extensive grounding in diamond grading, lapidary, haute horologie and luxury branding. She is also the author of the Verdict report on Global Luxury Brands (2007) she is a non executive director for jewellery manufacturing group Abbeycrest and a member of The Company of Master Jewellers’ executive team.

Before entering the jewellery world, Sarah was a radio producer and broadcaster who worked in Seychelles for some years, launching the country’s first FM radio station, Paradise FM. She is also the author of the best-selling travel book, The Odyssey Guide to Seychelles. TOP



 

COLIN HARRIS, DIRECTOR
Colin has worked in publishing, marketing and associated graphic media since the heady days of the ’60s and has witnessed and embraced the huge advances of technology. He is expert in the knowledge of how to utilise the very latest technology to best advantage and is excited by the marketing opportunities that this offers for the portfolio of CMJ Media.

Publishing has figured strongly in Colin’s career, both in his own company with titles such as THM (The Holiday Magazine), Cooks Weekly and with project management for other major publishing clients including The Company of Master Jewellers.

He has wide experience in the management of marketing for large brands and organisations but also understands the needs of the independent retailer both small and large. He has been responsible for many successful strategies and is qualified to advise on all aspects of marketing, from concept to campaign. Working with fellow directors Sarah Carpin and Steve Slaney presents a formidable array of strengths for the development of marketing and PR within the jewellery industry. TOP

STEVE SLANEY, DIRECTOR
Steve’s career began working for London Design Agencies as a creative and then moving on to form his own Design Consultancy that quickly expanded into an NPA recognised Advertising Agency, with Barclaycard and Avon Cosmetics among his extensive client list.

Steve has also worked as a partner in a Brand Development Agency, designing and developing for many prestigious brands, which included Malibu, Bombay Sapphire, Cinzano, Croft Sherries, Dunhill, BAT and f.m.c.g. brands for Premier Foods.

More recently, he joined forces with Colin Harris in the production and development of many successful magazines, catalogues and brochure publications.

Steve has always maintained a very hands-on approach to design and is looking forward to the wealth of experience he and his co directors and studio team can bring to the jewellery industry. TOP

KATHARINE REALFF, PR MANAGER
Katharine has gained a great deal of experience in jewellery PR at Swarovski Corporate Communications as Jewellery Communications Manager and at APR Communications, where Katharine worked with jewellery and watch brands such as Raymond Weil and Mappin & Webb. “I have a passion for jewellery and combine this with a love of working with the media at all levels,” she says. “From jewellery editors to bloggers and stylists, I work hard to ensure that our jewellery clients are promoted and endorsed on a number of different media platforms, from the leading glossy magazines to social networking sites.” TOP
